The bill that would extend unemployment benefits to people that are currently jobless passed a major hurdle in the Senate as it garnered the mandatory 60 votes for it to be up for discussion in Congress.  Many Americans recently were hit with the news of the benefits coming to an abrupt end, but the President has stressed that the benefits need to be extended or the economy would be hurt severely.  Read the full story below.
