Okay, I honestly thought he was resting in peace, but the body of Sherman Hemsley has been waiting for burial for nearly four months! This from reporter Beverly Mucha from The Examiner:

Sherman Hemsley, who starred in the TV sitcom, “The Jeffersons” can finally be laid to rest. The actor passed away on July 24 of lung cancer and his body has been [kept] in an El Paso funeral home in cold storage ever since. Fox News reported on Nov. 9 that his will is valid. A Texas judge, Patricia B. Chew ruled over the case on Friday by siding with Flora Enchinton Bernal against the objections from Hemsley’s half-brother, Richard Thornton.

It is sad that we lost a great actor and a man who brought such laughter into homes all over the world in the end to be treated so poorly. The comedian’s remains having to wait over three months for a proper burial because Richard Thornton didn’t think Flora Bernal should have been left with total control over his half-brother’s estate was downright selfish.
