Comcast to Offer Internet, TV, Home, Voice and Mobile Services to Residents and Businesses in Highland Park
PLYMOUTH, Mich. (Jan. 31, 2018) – Comcast today announced that it will acquire MIcom’s Highland Park, Michigan cable system and expects to begin offering Xfinity residential and Comcast Business services in Highland Park, Michigan, in the coming weeks.

Highland Park residents will have access to Comcast’s full suite of Xfinity products and services, including the company’s X1 video platform that provides a personalized, interactive TV experience. In addition to providing the fastest, most reliable Internet and in-home WiFi speeds, Comcast offers its customers Xfinity xFi service for managing their in-home WiFi experience. Also available to Xfinity Internet customers, Xfinity Mobile is designed to save customers money with up to five lines included, unlimited nationwide talk and text, and no line access fees. Comcast will also make available its prepaid internet and TV services, including its new Xfinity Instant TV which lets customers stream live TV on any device with no extra equipment.

Comcast also plans to bring its Internet Essentials program to Highland Park. Internet Essentials is the nation’s largest and most comprehensive high-speed internet adoption program for low-income Americans, and will be available to eligible households immediately following the transaction close. Internet Essentials aims to address each of the three major barriers to broadband adoption – digital literacy, access to computer equipment, and affordable Internet service. The program provides eligible residents with low-cost, high-speed Internet service for $9.95 a month plus tax; the option to purchase an Internet-ready computer for under $150; and multiple options to access free digital literacy training in print, online and in person.
Additionally, businesses in Highland Park will have access to Comcast Business’ comprehensive range of internet, WiFi, cloud, voice and TV solutions.
