Michigan Association for Justice Endorses Gretchen Whitmer for Governor
1,500-Member trade association dedicated to justice joins unprecedented growing movement for Whitmer
LANSING, MICHIGAN – Today, the 1,500-member wide Michigan Association for Justice (MAJ), announced their endorsement of Gretchen Whitmer for Governor. With this latest endorsement, the unprecedented early momentum behind Whitmer’s campaign continues as she builds a movement across Michigan to change the status quo in Lansing and make government accountable.
MAJ President Brian J. McKeen said that Whitmer is a proven fighter who knows how to mobilize people around our toughest problems, who fought to hold companies and individuals accountable, and is not afraid to take on anyone who stands in the way of Michiganders getting the justice they deserve.
“We are proud to endorse Gretchen Whitmer for Governor,” McKeen said. “With Gretchen, the people of Michigan will have a champion in their corner. Her past work and core values are proof that she will fight to keep the civil justice system fair and open and ensure that anyone who is seriously injured by misconduct or negligence of others can obtain justice in Michigan’s courtrooms.”
“The MAJ has been there for Michiganders to ensure that consumers are protected, to fight for civil rights, and to demand that a fair and level playing field exists in our state’s legal system,” said Whitmer. “I am proud to have their support, and together, we’re going to continue fighting for the people of Michigan because they deserve better.”
The Michigan Association for Justice, formerly the Michigan Trial Lawyers Association (MTLA), is a trade association committed to ensuring all Michiganders have access to the civil justice system. It consists of over 1,500 plaintiff’s attorneys and staff.
