If you grew up in Detroit “back-in-the-day” you no doubt know who Sonny Eliot is, and learned a lot about our weather system because of his presentation and humor delivering it. The Michigan Broadcasters Hall of Fame television and radio weatherman died at his home in Farmington Hills last night. He was 91 years old.
Eliot retired from broadcasting in 2010 after being in the business for 60-years! He was known for using humor to tell us the weather forecast:

Before Sonny Eliot became a weather man in Detroit, he was also a B-24 bomber pilot and was shot down over Germany in World War II. Eliot was also a member of the Michigan Aviation Hall of Fame.
