Saturday evening’s choir showdown at Joe Louis Arena was a saints paradise as five choirs sang their praising hearts out for a chance to win $10,000 and a trip to New York for the Verizon Wireless How Sweet The Sound Finals.
Mary Mary’s Erica Campbell said, “You can’t judge a book by its cover, and you can’t judge a choir by its color!” And in the end, it was The Apostolic Church Sanctuary Choir from Auburn Hills, Michigan and headed by director Buffie Dumas who won the competition.
