According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, more than 12 million children in the United States are obese! Healthy habits, including physical activity, can lower the risk of becoming obese and developing diseases related to being overweight.
United Healthcare is partnering for the fifth year with the nonprofit YSA (Youth Service America) in a campaign to give children the opportunity to get active while learning about childhood obesity.

There are new grants available to help young people fight childhood obesity. Schools and youth-focused, community-based nonprofit programs are eligible for UnitedHealth HEROES grants of up to $1,000 for projects which aim to combat childhood obesity through walking, running or hiking programs.
