I Can’t Hear You!

For over two months, I’ve been dealing with a loss of hearing in my right ear. I’ve had the issue before, but never to the extent that my hearing has been compromised. It was pretty scary and confusing especially when I was in a loud place, having to pick and choose what to listen to. Finally, I went to an ENT and before the hearing evaluation, it was determined that my ear had extensive blockage and it had to be cleaned before the test.

So, they stuck an ear vacuum down my ear canal and Lord Have Mercy the junk they removed!!! Okay, that was gross but I ended up being able to hear clearly before I even had the test, and then passed it with ease.

And so it is with hearing from God. 

Sometimes your life can become filled with things that can compromise what is the voice of God. It becomes a scary and confusing time when so much is going that you’re not sure what God is saying, or what the world is telling you. Worse yet, things can get so blocked that you can’t hear from God at all! The prophet Jeremiah, said it best, “To whom can I speak and give warning? Who will listen to me? Their ears are closed so they cannot hear. The word of the LORD is offensive to them; they find no pleasure in it.”
