Dominique Dawes was the only African-American female who had ever earned an Olympic gold medal in gymnastics before this weeks history making feat by Gabby Douglas. She was recently interviewed on Fox Sports The Edge and choked back tears saying, “I am so thrilled for Gabby … I’m so thrilled to change my website and take down the fact that I was the only African American with a gold medal.”

She also admitted that before Gabby’s Olympic all-around title win, she was walking around the stadium listening to Yolanda Adams to calm down. Her advice to Gabby… “Keep God First.”
